Join us for the Grand Opening of our New Distillery!

The big day is almost here!

On Saturday, June 18 we’re celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Authentic Seacoast™ Distillery and Brewery – and you’re invited! Join us in Guysborough, Nova Scotia for a day full of live music, ceremony, tours and free samples of Fortress™ Rum.

The first distillery located at a golf course in the world, the state-of-the-art distilling and brewing facility is home to Authentic Seacoast’s™ award-winning spirits and craft beer brands, including Fortress™ Rum, GLYNNEVAN^® Whisky, Sea Fever™ Rum and Rare Bird™ Craft Beer.

Not only will you be among the first to tour the facility and taste the products, you’ll get a glimpse into the deep history of beer and spirits on the Guysborough harbour. After all, Guysborough is the birthplace of brewing in Atlantic Canada, started in 1659 by Acadian entrepreneur Nicolas Denys. You’ll also experience Nova Scotia’s proud rum heritage at the distillery, a tradition that goes back more than 300 years, when salt cod and lumber left Guysborough harbour for the Caribbean, returning with “hogsheads” of rum in their holds.

Yes, history will be booming on June 18. A detachment of the Cannoniers/Bombardiers accompanied by members of the field music corps from the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site will be here to help us celebrate. The sound of cannon fire and fife and drum will echo throughout the day.

The festivities continue well into the night with a special performance by Juno award-winner Garrett Mason. He’ll be rocking the Rare Bird Pub in Guysborough from 9pm to 1am! There is no cover for this event.

Grand Opening celebrations start at 2pm with public tours and tastings from 3 pm to 5 pm. We can’t wait to see you there!
